Auto insurance is compulsory in most states. However there are still people who refuse to get one. Here are a few reasons why that may not be so smart.

By paying a specified premium, you are assured that should you get involved in a vehicular accident and:

• Someone gets hurt or dies, legal fees and medical fees are covered under the Bodily Injury Liability clause.
• You or the other person involved does not have medical insurance, medical expenses are covered by Medical Payments Liability clause.
• Wreck the other car, legal cost and damage claims are covered under Property Damage Liability clause.
• Damaged your own car by hitting other cars, properties or people, repair fees are covered under the Collision coverage.

Or in case you were just lucky enough to have nature come down and destroy your car or have it stolen, repairs or replacement are taken care of under Comprehensive Insurance.
